Brandt & Partners is a tax consultancy firm that over the years has specialised in two areas:

– Advice for small and medium-sized businesses that have one or more owners (whether or not family-related).

– Advice for internationally operating businesses that have one or more holding companies, offices or personnel in the Netherlands.

Work area

We focus on giving advice in all important areas of tax, such as income and corporation tax, dividend tax, inheritance tax, turnover tax, transfer tax, international tax legislation etc.

Internationally we work with a growing number of offices abroad. Just like Brandt & Partners, these offices distinguish themselves through experienced consultants who work on behalf of demanding clients at the highest level within their field of expertise.

Our internationally advising consultants have been employed as taxation specialists abroad for some time. For the benefit of our – international – clients, we are in regular contact with our foreign colleagues. Obviously, they speak fluent English, German and French.

Our consultancy activities comprise among other things the following:

  • Assisting with business successions, mergers and acquisitions (including fiscal due diligence), as well as the restructuring of existing activities.
  • Guiding foreign businesses with respect to setting up business operations in the Netherlands under our One Stop Shop concept.
  • Counselling Dutch businesses with respect to cross-border activities.
  • Applications for all sorts of rulings with the tax and customs administration.
  • Supervising all sorts of tax audits.
  • Negotiating with the tax and customs administration and, if required, conduct tax objection and appeal procedures to the highest authority.
  • Assisting U.S. companies listed on the stock exchange that have Dutch entities in complying with their FAS 109/FIN 48 obligations.
  • Transfer pricing studies and reporting.
  • Providing all sorts of tax returns.
  • Providing non-certified annual accounts
One Stop Shop

Practice has shown us that many foreign clients wishing to set up operations in the Netherlands, spend a great deal of time looking for the different service providers they need in order to start their activities. For example, they will require a civil-law notary to establish a private limited company, a lawyer to check contracts with Dutch clients and, last but not least, a tax consultant for the fiscal complications.

We take this work off the shoulders of our foreign clients not only by providing them with advice about the best structure for their business activities in the Netherlands, but furthermore by subsequently setting up this structure. In case other service providers need to be engaged, we will make use of our contacts from a select group of service providers and we continue to have a coordinating role in all of this. Thereafter, we also maintain this coordinating role during the annually recurring activities.

International network

Internationally we work with a growing number of offices abroad. This network is continuously expanding with new offices joining. In addition, all affiliated offices have access to a network of reliable service providers such as lawyers, civil-law notaries, bank and asset managers in their own countries, to whom we can refer our clients, if desired.

Our consultants collaborate on a regular basis with their foreign colleagues as part of cross-border projects for our clients. Furthermore, they give presentations on tax issues for clients of our foreign offices.

 

Our partners

For the work that we ourselves do not carry out, we have access – if so desired – to a permanent network of partners. These include accounting consultants and chartered accountants, subsidy consultants, lawyers and civil-law notaries whose service we know, through many years of experience, to be of the same high standard as you may expect from us.
